Axcess Industries knows that nicks, cuts, scratches and burns happen all the time. Safety Ed wants to make sure that you know how to safely take care of these injuries when they happen.

Cuts require immediate attention if

  • There is severe bleeding
  • Cut was cause by a rusty nail or animal bite
  • Cut is more than half an inch long

To treat any cut

  • Stop the bleeding by covering it with sterile gauze or a clean cloth
  • Apply pressure until bleeding stops
  • When the bleeding stops wash it with soap and water and disinfectant
  • If the bleeding does not stop, go get professional medical help
  • Once the cut is taken care of, make sure to change bandage twice a day
  • Clean it often so it doesn’t get infected

When it comes to burns, Safety Ed wants to make sure you know all the different kinds of burns:

  • A First Degree burn is when the skin is red
  • A Second Degree burn is when the skin is blistered
  • A Third Degree burn is when the skin is blackened

To treat a burn

  • Put a first and second degree burn in cold water or use an ice pack.
  • Then put a clean bandage on it
  • Change the bandage twice a day
  • For third degree burns to not remove any clothing or apply any bandages, just call professional medical help
